The trapezoid is a classic geometric form for a support base, upon which something of importance is meant to be presented. Any number of examples can be given: from the Mayan temples of antiquity to the trapezoidal shaped stages of so many commemoration events in today’s society. In this modest artwork at hand it is a support base about to be envelopped by a reclining form to its left, apparently bearing a heavy load.
