It’s Only a Scrape

Posted: May 7, 2011 in Page 1: The Interface Paintings

Dimensions: 92 by 92 cm, framed.
Media: Paint on wood panel, with wood blocks on wood structure.

To note: A black and red block are used in this work. Certain linear forms are scraped into the wood, leaving the raw wood color; others unveil red paint. An olive green, used with the grey, provides a working opposite to the red, offering a more full palette, and thus, “completing” a work based on opposites, which is fundamental to the idea behind the interface paintings.
